About our organisation
Founded by Stephanie Heijdra and Martinus Heijdra in 2022, Nakupenda Empowerment Charity Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with a history of abuse and their families have a better life.
What will start as a dedicated daycare in Abuja, Nigeria, will soon transform into a cross-country network of volunteer operated daycares specializing in caring for children with a history of abuse. In addition to daycares, the organisation offers art therapy and playtime programs that can take place in any school or community center.

is funded by donations and complies with the strictest NGO financial management requirements.
Support a child
With as little as US $5/month, you can make a huge impact on a child's life. Your donation will help a child stay in daycare, receive personal care, food, and enjoy art therapy classes.
Support a program
When you support a program, you support 25 children and their families. Your donation will help our program run smoothly, and continue to offer rehabilitative help to those who need it.
Our mission
We are committed to helping children with a history of abuse and their families -wherever they are- living their life with as much normalcy as possible.
In addition, we advocate tailored care and education, as the means to achieve great progress and success. Our programs have proven successful in helping children with varying degrees of abuse interact and socialize more. We believe there's always hope.
